I was thinking of joining this place. I had a quick look around some of the holes last week and they look pretty good. I'm having a game there this week and another the following week.

I'm looking for some general info on the place.

    Thanks :)

You are looking at in my opinion a little gem of a place. I love Arklow, if you can play well there you will play well anywhere as it requires you to shape the ball and really does require you to be a great ball striker. It will put manners on your game of your a little off.
The greens are also fantastic and with the 3 new holes gone in this place has some teeth.

Not sure what I can offer you in terms of general info, I know they have a lot of members and tee times used to be impossible to get your hands on but everything is done online now so I know its lightened up a bit. They have a nice club house and in terms of Interclub golf if you were interested they always field a very strong side and are a tough team to beat. What sort of info were you looking for ?

Its a course I had considered joining and think its exceptional, Dont think you can go too far wrong, club is very healthy andI know with the new membership deals they are doing its good value for money

    Hope this helps !!

    Hey BUACHAILL,

You have answered a lot of the things I needed to know, cheers :)

I was also looking for info regarding the general atmosphere around the clubhouse. I don't know any members so i'm totally in the dark.

    Thanks

    Fred,

I play there at least twice a year, society and invite and I have to say it is one of the most welcoming of clubs. Course is superb, one of my favs. Staff and members always a smile for you and the food and atmosphere is always good. I did nearly join it myself a long time ago but the drive from Dublin was just to much back then. If it is near you go for it you wont regret it.

A stones throw, I could walk there with my clubs. It would be great for practicing too as its so close.
Thanks for the info lads, it's looking like a runner :)

This club is also a stone throw away from me. If i'm honest, i think it has some bland "parkland" like holes. Its a bit of a mix of links and parkland for me, not enough of the bit of the links rough. The fairways can be generous .
Its a 6.5/10 for me in terms of being classed as a link course. Of course 10/10 would be the likes of the european club and strandhill.
However i find the staff and existing members there very welcoming and the food is great.
