    Hey all,

Am looking to get myself a good set of boots, circa 70e. Just wondering what brands etc people have had good experiences with and the like.

There's a set of wrangler safety/hiking boots (not steel capped) for 70 in a local shop that caught my eye but I've no experience with them so if anyone has that'd be good too, cheers.

    Size 11-11.5

got a pair of para boots in middleton army surples store for 25euro dollars
they also have patrol boots called Magnums which are slightly more expensive and slightly better.
Im sure most surplus stores will have them just be careful cos i have noticed the exact same boots for sale for at least twice the price :)

i am always of the mind that boots are the most important item without them ou can't function so it is always a good idea to get something that little bit more expensive. i spent 200 euro on a pair of Han Wag gor tex spec ops gtx boots about five years ago and i still have them in my kit bag. they don't make them any more but something along the lines of those will be a good choice. magnums are also good. but it is worth pointing out that for 70 euro you get what you pay for and blisters are a b**ch. Also for running around on the field you need ankle support which some hiking boots lack. so bare it in mind

Cheers for the info. I don't know but I'd be suprised if you get what you pay for applied to 70e boots, some boots from a department store for 25-30 yeah I'd expect it but I'd be suprised if 70 wouldn't get more then suitable boots... maybe I'm just not in the eurozone long enough. Still, welcome all and more feedback

I've a fair amount of background in wilderness and street stuff, and have used loads of boots both for work and day-to-day wear over the years. For airsoft I got a set of used British Army boots, and they are absolutely excellent. Utterly waterproof, no ditch, stream nor muddy puddle has ever had so much as a drop get through. They're comfortable and tough and arrive already broken in. The only issue I have is that they're not too cushioned on the sole so walking on pavement for too long gets a bit sore, but for airsoft they're the business. 40 Queenpounds.

I'm a big fan of jungle boots. They're very comfortable once you break them in and will last you forever if you keep them clean and polished. As for brand names, Altama make boots for the U.S. military so you can't really go wrong buying a pair made by them. If you don't know what jungle boots are have a look here to get a basic idea:

Yeah nice one, will have a think on them. Like the look of the german ones too but seems they're getting harder to find these days.

Things to remember when buying boots for skirmishing:
    • Go for the best you can afford
    • Avoid side-zip boots like the plague (I speak from bitter experience)
    • Get ones with good ankle support
    • Get waterproof ones if you can afford them
If you get non-waterproof boots, invest in a pair of Sealskinz socks and your feet will never be wet again!
