Im revising organic experiments atm and i have a question about the tests carried out on Ethanal.
Do I need to know what Tollen's reagent is, and how to prepare it? or can i just say ethanal was added to tollens?
    thanks.

Don't think you have to know how to prepare or what chemicals are in it or anything.

You do have to know what it is. Pretty sure they asked to describe how to carry out the test before and in the marking scheme you had to say what chemicals. Also you might have to write the equation, pretty hard if you don't know the formula!
