Mans name ruined for ever?

Hi all. I was watching a programme last week. It was about a man who worked with troubled teens. One of the teens he worked with told police that this man sexually assaulted him. Police looked into it, and found notting.

The care worker was let go from work his name ruined and to top it off, when he looked for another job. The police had to inform his new job of the past claim against him!

That just sounds wrong in my eyes. He done notting. But mud sticks as they say. Where is the justice in that?

You are assuming he is innocent. Just because there wasn't enough evidence against him for a criminal charge doesn't mean he didn't do it. The health centre night have had enough evidence to justify his dismissal.

I do think it is terrible when people get accused of sex crimes in the wrong. I think that people who make false claims should be harshly punished because it is a stain on your character unlike any other.

added to that is when statistics are released, the figures fro convictions look very poor and thus this discourages real victims from following through a prosecution....

unless you have intimate knowledge of the case, the police looked into it and a prosecution was not sustained.... and there is alot of reasons why that may happen.

Legally innocent until proven guilty. Irrelevant of the crime.

Obviously the employer felt there was enough evidence to prove he was guilty. The level of proof required in civil and criminal law is very different.

What a classic post for the legal forum. You should get some kind of award.

Its not that unusual for troubled teens to make these types of allegations, as well as the police investigation, there is internal procedures for investigating these types of claims within a care setting. People cannot be sacked just because of accusations - why was he actually dismissed?

Why didn't he seek legal recourse if he was unfairly dismissed from his job or did he ?

It all sounds abit odd in fairness.
