A cautionary word for everyone out there. Was playing with a society yesterday in Blainroe Golf Club. Playing off the green tees. After comming off the green on the 12th hole we moved over to the next tee box, we had lost a little ground on the group infront but we were not holding anyone up. One of the players noticing this said "right who's up we better try and catch these lads". So I was up, I went and launched one of my best drives straight down the middle. Then the next guy stands up and realises I just teed off from the whites!! F**K!! The green tees are on another tee box about 30yards further forward. So everyone else tee's off from there and I tee off last from there knowing that I am playing 3 from the Tee! Got lucky and cracked another straight down the middle and stuck my 8 iron to the pin and got a 5 on the hole for 2 points.

Now here's the crule bit. My finishing score 34points. Competition was won with 35points so if I hadn't of rushed I would have won the competition! Now I got third anyhow so I'm happy enough.

So I'm not encouraging slow play but just check and make sure your in the right teeing box and that kinda thing!

    Regards
    Ian

Effectively €20. The society has moved to all vouchers this year except for captains prize and presidents prize, I think its a great idea. 3rd got an €80 gift voucher, 1st got a €100 gift voucher. For different places but still effectively €20 in the difference.

Also I have no legs left to play golf as the handicap sectary promised to cut them from under me :D
