SecurityTool Virus + Windows 7 + Google Chrome

There was recently the SecurityTool virus on this system. Not sure where it came from, I wasn't using the computer at the time, someone else was (the system's owner), so I'm not 100% as to how it ended up on the computer. This computer was formatted 2 days ago to Windows 7 Professional and is a legitimate WGA-approved copy.

Anyway, ran Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and seemingly got rid of it. Chrome wouldn't work-- wouldn't load pages or even connect. Firefox and IE8 both did. Uninstalled, reinstalled, wouldn't work. Went manually through the registry and cleaned out anything involving the word "google" or "chrome." Checked to make sure all the proxy settings were okay. Reinstalled. Still doesn't work.

Firefox and IE8 aren't having the problem. Google Chrome was presumably open at the time of infection and I'm assuming that's why it's messed up.

Anyone have any idea how to fix it? Can't stand IE8 or Firefox anymore after using Chrome for awhile. :(
