This one was taken of Gatwick yesterday, has anyone got similar images of other airports?

It just looks like a busy day or first thing in the morning before all the flights get going. Exception is the absense of amy moving aircraft.

Most carriers seem to be covering their engine cowls against any dust contaminates.

Quick question, its all well and good covering the engines etc but will Airports have to clean the runway's-taxiways before ops start again? Just wondering as many a time ive seen Aircraft engines sucking up the water off the deck.

I would imagine they will keep to their normal schedule of cleaning with the road sweepers that they used.

I would question whether LGW has that many aircraft on all those remote stand first thing in the morning.

Heres 2 aircraft shots from DUB:

And some clear skies voer Dublin:

Edit: Below....ELA arrived about a week or two ago. Guy on flickr has a photo of it landing in SNN on its delivery flight. It is the replacement for EI-DUB.

Cork has a pretty uneven runway too.

Having at look at the usual posters on flickr and there are a few more shots from Dublin.

    Departures boards:

    Ryanair B738s all closed up:

    EI all closed up:

Question: Why do EI have what look like proper engine covers (the red orange bit) while Ryanair use what looks like a giant plastic bag? Was the cover an optional extra when buying the model. Am sure they are both equally efficient at protecting the engine.

Mick to Boeing: "No need for alloys, turtle wax finish, window blinds, engine covers or sun roof, better keep the aircon and CD player though.

With all those covers on all those plane's engines and openings. I seriously hope nothing gets forgotten about when the planes are ready for action again.

Something like this happened before, a bit of tape was left on some where and it caused the aircraft to crash!

Yeah saw that on Air Crash Investigation, there's a hell of a lot of planes with tape on them now!!

The pictures they had of Heathrow during the BA strike looked a lot more crowded on the ground than any of the shots I've seen of airports over the last week. Did they just park them all a lot better this time round, but there has surely been a much larger number of planes parked at every airport in Europe over the last week than during a mere BA strike?

I think the reason may be that the BA strike was expected and planned for. BA didn't operate a nubmer of flights so the aircraft stayed on the ground. Last Thursday many BA flights got out of LHR and other UK airports before the UK airspace was closed (think it was 1100 or 1200?) Thus many aircraft got stranded at other European airports.
