noisey air-con

    Hi folks

    Im currently driving a focus tdci, recently the egr valve was cleaned out by garage up North (where I got it), and about a week after I noticed the air con making a strange noise, it is a sort of hollow/airy sound, dont know how to explain it!

    I thought the compressor could be gone but iv put my ear close to the commpressor and cant hear it making the same noise, the longer the air con is on for the louder the noise becomes. Also the air is not as cold as it should be.

    Does anybody have any ideas what it could be, hopefully its nothing to serious or ill have to take it North again (still under warranty). Was thinking it could be gas but would it make noise if it was low? Also do you think could it be anything to do with the EGR valve, ie had to be disconnected to get to the air-com

    It the noise there all the time, when you just start the car and when it has warmed up?

    Maybe it needs to be regassed.
