Are you talking about "Eloping" as in running away and not telling anyone you are getting married? Or are you talking about arranging a "Destination Wedding"?

My sister got married in Law Vegas and my family loved it.......

What were you thinking of planning?

In theory it's a great idea. You get the gorgeous venue, landscape and weather all for a lot less than Ireland.

However, considering we are in a recession bear in mind that people may be financially struggling at the moment and for a few more years to come.

A wedding abroad does cost people a lot of money. Of course they aren't under any obligation to go.

I'm not saying don't do it but I am saying to consider the expense it will place on your guests to attend. If you want a small wedding with just immediate family then going abroad may be perfect but if you want more people there then they mightn't be able to afford it.
