    Hi,

I'm in the process of purchasing an iphone 3gs, however I don't fancy getting tied into a long contract and would prefer stay on pre-pay. Has anyone tried this and can recommend which mobile phone provider works best for it??

    Thanks
    TH

Have you 3G coverage from all the networks where your living? Use many calls and texts? Do you move around the country much?

The only network id struggle with 3G would be meteor, strong signal with o2 and vodafone, id send an awful lot of texts, probably in the region of 1000 a month, and id make some calls too, not as many while im on pre-pay but when i was on bill i used 350 a month purely because it was free. I spend most of the time between Munster/Dublin

it would be good to know what network you call and text most?
for example if o2 you could go for o2 clear unlimited (€24.90) Unlimited o2 to O2 calls and texts & unlimited Landlines, it's a 30 day plan so only 30 day notice require and you can also have data add-on if you wish, you also get 250 webtext which you can use form your Iphone using eirtext or jellysms.

I bought my iPhone and use it on prepay. Currently in the process of getting it on billpay though, no data plan literally cripples it for me.

Meteor have a free internet deal on prepay now, you get a certain amount of data free per month if you top up by 20 and I think that goes along with the free calls and texts to meteor/free all network texts.

I'd give Best Of Both 15 on Three a go. 40 Minutes to any 3 network. 40 Minutes to any Irish Phone. Unlimited free texts. Only €15 a month with 30 day rolling contract.
Then 1GB internet add on for €9.99 a month.
