nail or something in tyre

I heard a strain noise from front tyre/wheel on my car. It increased as i increased speed so seemed to be something on/in the wheel. I thought initially a puncture but it is a large nail/bolt in the tyre with the head of the nail/bolt left exposed and that was making the noise everytime the wheel rotated and made contact with the road. Anyway the wheel/tyre pressure didnt appear to go down so the nail/bolt is sealing the hole. How should i go about dealing with it. If it is not too deep i may be able to pull it out myself without deflating the tube. Will i need a new tyre? or just a tube?

It can be fixed using a special patch applied with a corkscrew looking tool (tyre plug). Any good tyre place.

Yes.... temporarily. It needs the tyre to be taken off and a proper patch fitted. The wheel should also be balanced after refitting the tyre.

There aren't any tubes in tyres these days.

I'd suggest bringing it to a tyre place asap. If possible, swap it with the spare. I wouldn't reccommend driving on it, especially at high speeds or anything like that. It's an easy fix, a tenner would more than cover it
