    Hello Dublin,

    Where are your people?

Iv just started a new job in Dublin a week ago, I have lived and gone to college is west Ireland.

In a 22 male, friendly, interested in technology, martial arts and im not depressed or anything, I have plenty of friends back home but virtually zero contacts in Dublin,

Im living in Dublin 12, with a 15 minute bus to the city centre. The area i live in is REALLY quiet and seems to be filled with older people,so little chance of meeting people.

Im finding it a little hard to make new contacts and set up a new...group of people/friends?

Im looking for anyone who knows of events, or such that happen around/in the city,or good web sites that keep track of such event.

Im currently hunting for a kick boxing club in the area, but i would like to take part in a broad range of actives, im a little bored in the evenings and weekends here.

I share an apartment with a eastern euro guy,he is very quiet, a little to reclusive so il be trying to get him out and bring him to some of these as well.

Basically if you think its fun/interesting tell me where to find it.

Im here for at least 6 months. Dont want to spend it all watching TV :)

Try meetup.com - The 'New and Not So New in Dublin' Group is quite good.

Plan on checking out a few of there shindigs myself during the summer. For the time being though its exam time :(

Also, you could try the indoor rockclimbing course in TCD. It's only 52 euro.

    Enjoy!

Welcome to Dublin :) You might like to try this forum as it's dedicated solely to the city itself http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=474

Also, the self-defence/martial arts forum on boards is a good place to find clubs in your locality.
