Why couldn't I get the answer to "Why can't ye give legal advice here?" here?

I didn't log in until now so I didn't read the thread until now, and noticed that Maxmillian the moderator had closed it (for some unknown reason). It was closed with that poster conveniently having the final say and claiming within that said post that it was quite unlikely that "that you will lose your home, get fired, get sued, get boards sued, get me sued, get another user sued, get a criminal record, go to prison". Now I'm not sure but is driving a defective vehicle not an offence in this state? If it is I can see how the above would be quite possible. I think the Mods need to understand that noone is arguing with your policy, and drkpower has stated that the policy here is probably the correct one. For me I'm just interested why there is one rule for one forum, and another rule for the others. I don't think it's as simple as the Mod made out in his final post and I don't see the need to have closed it, and in all fairness Maxmillian there didn't seem to be evidence of anyone trolling and what's wrong with a discussion (even if it does involve a little argument) just to make it clear what the reasoning behind it is.

The policy has been explained fully. It's not actually open to debate or a vote. If you don't like it, take it to feedback (or the motoring forum). The defective vehicle question was off-topic. By all means make a separate thread.
