    Sorry AH but I beg of you to go into 'serious mode' for just a few seconds :pac:

    Flying out later to the UK and would be nice to bring the laptop (I want to plot some courses as we're coming back by sea, much easier on the laptop than GPS) - Is it much hassle bringing it considering it'll be going on as hand luggage?

    If it's made by Apple, make sure to sit in full view of other passengers and don't forget to gaze at it with rapt, beatific smugness for the whole flight.

    ...and look like sucker for getting sucked into the whole "I bought an Apple product" thing!
    Now where's me Ipod, Ipad, Iphone...?

    I don't have a clue! :(

    Somebody started a wonderful thread about Apple in Ranting and Raving the other day.

    So long as you can fit it in your laptop bag, and you dont need 2 elephants to pull it along it wont be any hassle at all.

    OP I travel alot and have to bring my laptop. There isn't any problem with bringing it as hand luggage , you will have to remove it and put it through the scanner at security , also it's best to take out any adaptors , chargers and put them in your checked luggage . It's just easier all round.

    Honestly though. as long as its easily accessible by the security should they wish to scan it, you should be fine.
    Its an every hour/day occurrence. My stuff has been scanned loads of times.
    (..and they still haven't found the hidden Jelly Babies I'm smuggling)

    AH->Travel

    And no it won't be a problem. Take it out and scan separately at security.
