Has anyone read any of the many business/recession books around these days? I mean The Bankers - Shane Ross, Matt Cooper - Who Runs Ireland or Bill Cullen's It's a Long Way since Penny Apples etc etc. Are any of them any good or just rushed out after the economic problems?

I read How I Caused the Credit Crunch and liked it so was looking for something like that, even if not Irish interest?

I was tempted to pick up one but there are too many. I suspect that the authors are cashing in on the recession. If I wanted to read a self righteous journalist telling me why Fianna Fáil were such c*nts, I'd pick up the Irish Times. (Fintan O'Toole would be hanging around there anyway, so two for the price of one)

Moving to the Irish Economy forum from Literature - the Lit forum is just that.

Read David McWilliams book - interesting, not overly detailed and good for giving the big picture, once you overlook the corny puns e.g. 'VietNAMA' (personally I enjoy them but some people get very worked up:D)

Read some of the Shane Ross book - enjoyed it, have to pick up a copy actually.

Didn't get a chance to read Matt Coopers but heard it was the best of them.

Would rather take several bites of a sh1t sandwich than to read anything from Bill Cullen.

You inadvertantly raise a good point - Shane Ross was recently complaining that his book didn't get the artistic tax exemption while Bertie's did.

I got the Matt Cooper book for christmas. It's not a bad read but it's a bit preachy, kind of like "I seen it all coming" sort of thing.

Read Matt Coopers book, thought he sat on the fence quite a bit, understandable as he may be asking some of the people he talks about to participate in his radio show so it would have been hard to be overly critical. Good enough read
