ok first of all im a girl and im straight.
A friend of mine is openly gay and i have no issue with it. But a few weeks ago a different friend (girl 2) asked me if i was into girls and i said no but i noticed girl 1 (gay) was kinda sad about the answer. I thought nothing of it at the time. A few days later girl 1 texted me saying that it was her that wanted to know if i was gay and that she 'liked' me. I said no again. she was kinda down after that and i feel like its my fault
Since then ive been a bit akward around her and i dont know what to say to her. and to make it worse in the past few days she has been avoiding me

i kinda wana know if anyone has been in the the position of girl 1 and how you felt and advice to help us be friends again

Unrequited attraction. I've been in your position before, and can firmly state that girl 1 behaved like an immature child. She new you nothing was going to happen between you two, yet decided to force the issue, putting you in an awkward position. No the actions of a friend. It's great that you accepted her and supported her, but she has no right to expect you to jump in bed with her.

You should just forget it ever happened and act normally. Think about whatever you would normally talk about and focus on that.

Unfortunately, she may just need time apart to get over it. She obviously had a bit of a fantasy built up in her head, but I'm sure she'll come around.

Depends on how long you guys have been friends for and good a friend she is to you. If you guys have been best buds for ages, then Id do what Dwn Wth Vwls said. But if you've only gotten to know her over the past while it could be that she was hanging around you because she's attracted to you. If thats the case you should forget about trying to get things back the way they were and keep a healthy distance.

It sounds like you want to keep her as a freind explain this to her and talk about the way you feel about her . You may lose her as a freind but thats not some thing you can help .
