I don't think so. Afaik there isn't even a gay bar.

From what I can gather there might be 1 gay bar

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

1 bar, the Stage Door. Full of auld lads the one time I was in, I pretended to be a lost tourist (Ocean Race was on) and left after a pint.

Apparently a branch of Dignity (gay bar chain in the south east) is to open shortly.

No equivalent of the Outhouse and no permanent gay nightclub either although Eden is on frequently in the Warwick in Salthill (a bit of a trek from the city centre!)

There's nothing in Galway bar the Stage Door - which you have a fair description of above, all the other gay bars my mates knew from college have closed down before I moved here (3 years ago) and only 1 bar has opened that I know of in the meantime, but Twirleys was a bit of a hole and only lasted what, 6 months?
I don't think anything much is on in the Warwick at all these days?

Galway has no gay scene/hangouts tbh, but apparently The Blue Note is the 'unofficial' gay pub around.

Im surprised that such a diverse city as Galway doesn't have such a venue

Does it need to have a gay bar of scene?
I know several lgb people who live out that way and said they like that there isn't a 'scene'
that they feel comfortable in a range of pubs rather then having to go to desnigated gay bars.

A gang of them came up to the gig I was at on Monday which was a lot of fun, esp when at one time I copped that I was pretty much surrounded by non straight people :)

I don't personaly feel the need for any scene, actualy don't go to specificaly gay venues that often...just thought that if I was passing through, it might be nice to drop into somewhere like the Outhouse Cafe if such exists....I don't need a scene in general, but occasionaly such can be nice...can be easy places to strike conversation especially as a stranger.
