Side Fringes

Went to see a hairdresser over the weekend to ask their advice before I get my hair cut this week, and they recommended that I should get a long side fringe as apparently it would really suit me (not the first to say that). But I'm a little reluctant to get one as I'm afraid that it would take a lot of effort to maintain.

So I was just wondering if anyone could let me know your experiences of having a side fringe and whether or not you'd recommend getting one? And how long, roughly, does it take to grow out (my hair grows pretty quickly).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Long side fringes are lovely, but it depends on your hair type. I have a slight wave in my hair and blow dry it straight and got a long side fringe. Any bit of moisture and it started to kink so it drove me mad but i still liked it. Once it was GHD'd itd stay in place then for awhile.

It takes literally 1 minute to GHD it in the mornings thats all the maintenance it needs. It will grow out very quickly and can be pinned to the side when at the awkward stage. Id give it a go tbh.

What type of hair do u have??

I personally love having a side fringe! Tried a full one before and it was just too much work! Particularly if your hair grows quickly. So the asymmetrical option is definitely easier to maintain in my opinion, it can wok with or without length

I've got straight hair which is very fine, so once it's brushed when it's wet (it doesn't even have to be blow dryed) it'll be straight... So I wouldn't have a problem keeping the fringe 'straight'. I was just afraid that it would take ages to style into place.

Ah, I have really fine, straight hair too and have a side fringe. Well, it goes from full fringe to side fringe whenever I get bored. It's no bother at all to style though. I just wash my hair, blow dry it and run a straightener over it. I never straighten my fringe though, think that can make it look a bit, odd. Sort of really flat!
