This actually makes me want to go onto Ebay and buy something from this guy and call him something even worse.

Lets see him serve a summons to another country :)

Fuel for the Irish "Say nothing" disease.

If its bad say so, if its good say so, just don't say nothing!

I think people take the odd negative far too seriously. For every few hundered sales you're going to get at least one idiot buyer who isn't happy and would't be happy if you gave him the item for free, thats just the way it is. Its the overall consistancey of the feedback thats more important, a couple of buyers with the same negative complaint and I start to take notice. Its even worth checking the positives as you'll often find a few "praising caesar" from people that are afaid to outwardly leave negative.

Then there are the sellers that think everything is OK once they have refunded your money. They have the "you've not lost out why are you leaving negative" attitude which might be whats happening here.

In this case the negative feedback said 'bad seller, he has the ethics of a used car salesman' which is NOT the way to leave feedback. For a start its the sort of comment that will make the lawyers very rich as you can argue it for ever and a day; one way you could look at it is he's a good seller as he managed to sell a piece of junk and how can you prove what the ethics of a car salesman are?

If Mr Steadman wanted to make a point then he should have been factual, and as it wasn't Mr Miller should have asked eBay to remove it.

Ask me this pair are as bad as one another.

I think it more an attitude of sue sue sue IF you can find someone to sue that has some money to sue for.

Didn't the article say the buyer ran a small business and wanted the clock card machine for his employees? Business = money? I wonder if the seller would have been so keen to sue someone with no job and no money?

What is a "typical" American attitude, out of curiosity?

The story is a great example of idiocy, for sure but why should idiocy be the sole domain of the US?

"typical" american attitude is self centered, egotistical and stubborn....always blaming someone else never accepting that they are flawed themselves.

I say "typical" as its similar to other outlandish claims made by americans - have a look at some of the court reports in America (or even watch one of the daytime TV Judge shows - which may or may not be scripted, I dont know even though they claim they are REAL CASES)

its true that "we" as a nation are following suit and looking for someone to blame in the event of an accident, its always someone elses fault.
