Magpul PRS stock q

OK, I have aMagpul UBR stock on my long-ass 416, which works grand, except you can't take the back plate off the stock tube (or at least it's got a notch on it that means your butt-plate would keep coming off if you did, and it's exposed).

I want to take the plate off so I can use a stock-tube lipo in the stock tube. Right now I can do that, but I have to take the stock off (remove a grub screw, etc) when I want to change the battery.

Does anyone have a PRS stock lying around they could check for me? Basically, can you take the back plate off the stock tube part of it, for easy access to a lipo wired to the back?

Otherwise I'll just go back to the regular 416 stock or a CTR stock or something. I'd like to get the PRS if I can though.

    A PRS stock dave?

I have one but theres no removing the but plate on that yoke,

On the 416 here, is this the stock your talking about and not a UBR?

As far as i know the clones have been discontinued due to a lawsuit by Magpull. The only way you will be able to get one is to get a second hand, or dish out the $240 or so for a real one of the net.

Here is a link for the real version

Yes, that's a PRS stock. I currently have a UBR.

Your first post is a little confusing, as the title says PRS and the first line says UBR.,:)

You wouldnt get a battery into this yoke too handy to be honest. the but plate can be moved with the big screw there but theres a really long M16 style screw securing the stock to the rifle just where you'd want the lipo to go.

If you wanted to do the same with the UBR though, theres a little pin securing the end cap onto the stock tube and you can just tap that out to get it off. with the stock fully open you can get your battery in there no probs. :)

I have a UBR, was thining of getting a PRS :-)

Yeah, I might do that, only thing is it looks a bit cack having a hole in the back of the stock tube, since it's exposed most of the time when the buttplate is extended.

On a related note, my UBR stock seems to be loose, even with the nut and bolt tightened to **** it doesn't grab the stock tube, I might cut up a coke can and shim it, it seems the grub screw on the bottom is the only thing holding it.

there should be 2 allen key grub screws on the underside that screw into little indentations in the tube itself. give them a tighten and see if it helps, it may well be the case that they've fallen out.

I was planning on getting a Magpul PRS for my SR25, but this has me thinking again

This is the one I was looking at
    http://www.airsoftglobal.com/product_info.php?products_id=11098

They have 2 versions, one for an AEG and one for a GBB. They told me that the stock tube would fit most of the smaller lipos. Thee stock tube is 25mm x 165mm. Are they talking nonsense, or whats the crack? Would I have to take the stock off each time I wanted to change the battery? I wouldn't mind if I did, but I'd prefer to know in advnce. Or are thhey just telling me what I want to hear so I'll buy it.

    Mark.

No, cheers, but I really want the psg1 looking stock. I'm sure it'll be more hassle than it's worth, but once I get an idea into my head, there's no talkin me round it.... Even if it's the wrond idea :)
