I have been recieving JSB for the past year. I had to re-apply for the JSA when my benifit time was up. I had the inspector out for a visit (means test) and the outcome of his visit is as follows. i recieved a letter stating i was not entitled to any allowance as i owned a house and my means therfore greater that what the social welfare allowance.
My circumstance are as follows i own a house in Dublin i moved out as i was no longer able to pay the mortage ( lost my job), and i decided to rent the property so that i could cover the mortage cost. I moved into my brothers house which i share with him at present. the rent i get from renting my own house covers the mortage and the maintenance on my house.

It seem to me that this clause is ridiculas.

I am wondering has anyone had a similar problem to myself and what was the outcome of this problem.
