    I'm guessing the OP must be from the north as it's not something that is done in the south.

    Our school wasn't posh enough for these things-didn't realise it even happened in Irish schools. Thought it was an English thing for some reason.

    We were as far from posh as a school could be so it is not really a "posh" thing. I've heard of it in plenty of schools around the country
