I didn't realise he lost his fight a few weeks ago. I only caught a couple of rounds of it and he didn't look good at all.

He was a very entertaining fighter and was in some real wars. All the best to him.

Moore was one of my favourite fighters, a real thrill a minute fighter with as much grit and determination as anyone who's step inside the ropes. A lovely person outside the ring too by all accounts and he showed his class after being beaten by Ryan Rhodes when all he did was commend Ryan on his tremendous victory. Moore could of validly claimed he was drained at the weight(he was), but instead let the winner have his plaudits.

He was also proud of his Irish roots, and delighted when he got to fight for the Irish title. Such a shame the turnout for the bill was poor as Moore deserved to have won the belt in front of a big Irish crowd.

For those of you unaccustomed to Moore or indeed just wanting to watch some of his best action:

Shame it took him so long to get his European title shot, but Zaurbek Baysangurov's team knew Moore was far, far too dangerous to take the risk of going up against and probably would of took the Russian's European title from him.

Still he did with it in the end, aswell as being British(outright), Commonwealth and Irish champion. Just a little short of World Class in the end, but that mattered not to his fans(of which most hardcore boxing fans seem to be).
If boxing had more Jamie Moore's, the sport would have a much much bigger profile than it does today.

Quality fighter. Some fighters win "world" titles but are soon forgotten. Jamie won the Irish, British, commonwealth and European titles: He was a champion in the true sense of the word, Moore gave us some great fights and im sure everyone will agree that he got out of boxing at just the right time.

great fighter, true warrior. thanks for all the great fights. a true gentleman as well.

dont agree with last sentiment big ears about the profile of boxing. there is more warriors like jamie moore today than their ever has been. Boxing still has a huge appeal. 1st may ppv numbers will show that :-)

I dont know if there are more warriors now or yesteryear but one thing is for sure. If Moore-Macklin had the same hype, build up, and amount of viewers as mayweather-de la hoya, boxing would now have a HUGE mainstream fan base.
