For me its my two signed Something Happens albums particularly the "I know Ray Harmon mini LP". Band always used to draw faces on the albums when doing autographs and were very good at it too.

I have a 1x1 meter 3D In Utero cover, signed by Cobain.

I have a copy of Def Maybe signed by the entire band, from the first US Tour.

I actually have a lot of this kind of crap.

    Wonderful crap.

My god that is amazing. Very impressed.

I'm actually visible in the Nirvana - Live Tonight Sold Out video.

I played galaga for about 30 minutes against The Black Crowes.

I met Stevie Ray Vaughn a month before he died; he said he'd give me a ride in his limo te next time he was in town.

Thom Yorke offered to share a spliff with me in 93 (?). I said no.

I can do this all day.... I had a funny childhood.

Peter Buck a total leg. Was at Olympia for that series of rehearsal gigs. That guy really knows his stuff. And they gave great interviews as well.
REM my favourite band by some distance. Great to have you on here by the way

Have a signed Brendan Benson t-shirt which i got after i seen him play the village a few years ago.. it's also signed by the guy from the dead weather who was his keyboard player at the time. Also a signed toasted heretic t-shirt but whatever kinda pen Julian used it's become unreadable.

Also Will Oldham spilled a pint over me in whelans. He was holding two pints and i went to shake his hand so he put one in his mouth so he could shake hands but it fell and spilled all over me... i laughed as it was funny.

Bill Callahan (aka Smog) signed a poster of his River Ain't Too Much To Love tour for me.

That's the only bit of music memorabilia I have I think.

I've got a bunch of musician stories but mostly they're not the type you could post online. :)

Oh wait - I cracked a joke and made Bill Bailey laugh the night Michael Jackson died. That's a good one - if not strictly a music one.

I had a Lou Barlow autograph, signed in his own blood after a gig in Cork. Think the missus must have thrown it out.

I also have an original painting by Tobin Sprout of Guided by Voices!

Oh, and an American Music Club tour cd where Mark Eitzel drew his self portrait on the cover in biro.

when i went to see James Brown in Vicar street afew years ago during the set his "minder" came out with a towel to JB,he wiped his forehead and turned to me in the front row, gave me it and shook my hand. A year later i seen him in the Olympia about 2 months before he died and must have remembered me cos he gave me a second towel.
Both are navy blue with "The godfather of soul JB" in gold stitching on them.

I also seen Velvet Revolver in a club with about 500 people before they put out anything.

I got a signed Nightwatch man CD,the Nightwatch man is Tom Morello from Rage against the machine.

I got a pair of drum sticks given to me by the drummer from the hives.

I have the new biffy Clyro album signed by them all (Mon the Biffy)

I also got a set list from Paul Weller from a gig about 4 years ago.

Went drinking with the Fun Loving Criminals and Manni from Stone Roses.

Was at a party once and Bono and the Edge were there,i asked Bono for and autograph as im a massive fan. He signed it and then bought me a drink and i chatted to him for afew mins.... absolutely lovely guy!!!

Met Marky Ramone and have been drinking with just me,a mate,BP Fallon,Shane McGowen and my mates friend

Dunno if its a big "claim to fame" but i was taught by Pete Holidai from the Irish punk band The Radiators from space

I have a bunch of things, but the only one that matters is josh homme's plectrum from the second night in the ambassador. Very memorable night for me.

What is this U2 record??? I have never seenn or heard of it and i have ever U2 record on CD and Vinyl. Is it an actual offical release?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 865 ✭✭✭A Disgrace

It's a snippet at the end of 'Electric Co' of the old show tune 'Send in the Clowns', which they didn't have permission to use, so a new version of the album was pressed without the segment... Not sure how many there are knocking around, but a dealer in Dublin tried to offered a decent amount for it recently...

Wow that sounds cool. I have never heard about it. Is the cover the same? It sounds great. Is it on CBS Records or Island? Check http://www.discogs.com/ You might find a price for it there.

I had a ticket for that gig too. After I heard the news that he had killed himself I brought my ticket back to HMV for a refund and bought a pair of ox-blood doc boots from the money. Hardly a day goes by when I don't regret that!!

Oh that gig. Thought you meant the gig they played at the point. Was at that but dont remember much about it because brother and me were absolutely miles away from stage.
Vaguely remember Kurt singing "about a girl". But just a privilege to be there all the same.
