    blackleg at dehorning.
    lepto pre breeding.
no need to worm, as they wouldnt have be any where to pick them up,
waste of money at this stage.

I don't think you need to worm at turn-out. Afterall they can't pick up worms in the shed.

Anyone know what makes an area prone to blackleg?

    Is it soil type?
I cant remember us ever getting it and a lot of our land can be wet enough.

i normally do them about 3-4 weeks after turnout and then again about 4-5 weeks later . just depends when they need it .. when they are housed i dose them about 3 weeks after they come in and that does them for the duration of housing

If there were trees uprooted or heavy clearing of ditches, I believe it can cause blackleg.

Black leg is a bacteria that can live in the ground for a very long time
when an animal picks it up it multiplys inside of it and any animal that comes in contact with the carcass or soil where it was can pick it up it can also be spread by wind.
Young or weak or sick animals are most likely to pick it up
There are around 8 types of bacteria in ireland Antrix is similar but thats not a problem here.
Never had a problem with it until one year then I had a big problem.:(
