    Balls.
Paid the full price a few weeks ago for this in the Carlow branch.

Even at the reduced rate its still very expensive compared with what you can get it for online (well at least that what I think)

Is there much difference between this and the WD TV Live?

It is the WD TV Live.

Could the OP confirm if this is the WDTV or the WDTV Live (which has an ethernet port).
The Live version is £97 on Amazon, so I would be amazed if it was that one.

The Live is the newer one and is better. I had the original and sold it as soon as I heard the Live was coming out. Was gonna buy the Live but then Aldi had this and I went for it - http://img641.imageshack.us/i/aldi.jpg/

The pic suggests that its not the live one.

    Live unavailable:

Based on the link - its the old wd (not even the mini one with the same capabilites - which is also cheaper on the web)
I saw this in PC world the other day for approx 99 euros.
The bricks and mortar markup on these type of very basic media players at the moment is nothing short of extortionate.
(To give another example Maplin have a basic cyclone media player for more than 60 euros).

I would really recommend that people go online for these - amazon ebuyer etc.

    hi,

this is not the Hd live, the reason i bought this, is because i was sick of watching .mkv files on my laptop, all i do know is hook up my external hard drive, its a great little player, i was in maplins in livepool and the cyclone player with mkv capability was like 119 sterling, i know you can get a normal player to play avi on the cheap, but after reading reviews and all this seemed to be the best, and the price is fine...on ebay the average price is about €90
