Sorry in advance if this has been done before (Which Im sure it has plenty of times!!)

My partner and I have just taken advantage of the Aer Lingus Summer Sale and booked flights to Portugal for a week in July.... thing is Im not sure where to book accomodation!!

We are both in out thirties (Early to Late) and we like good night life - not clubbing but live music and maybe disco bars etc! Also, I would want a place with a pool and possibly entertainment during the day (BF loves it and will give me more time to soak up the sun:) Happy campers!) We like to shop (Well I Do!) and just want your standard holiday package...... dont want to blow the budget either.....

So where to go is the question........ ive been looking up places all morning (Will get fired soon Id say!:))

Have been to Praia Da Rocha before, but when I was 15, so cant remember it and it wasnt very commercialised then.......

    Appreciate any comments and recommendations!!;)

Was in Cascais (pronounced Cashcase) last year and loved it. 30 min from Lisbon on the train for day trips and shopping, cheap food, and cheap beer in the local pubs rather than the Irish bar or English bars.
Not a lout, chav, or watch seller in sight. Not over run with kids either, beautiful town.
This seems to be where the Portuguese take a holiday.. Can't recommend enough. Europes largest Casino 5 min up the road as well in Estoril.

Did you book tickets to Faro or Lisbon? If it's Faro I wouldn't recommend going to the place mentioned as it's the other end of the country really.

i wasnt blown away by Lisbon, but Sintra nearby is beautiful, Porto is a stunning city, other area's of Portugal i really like are Carrapateria, Benagil if you want seaside, Evora, Monchique, castelo da vide if you want to get off the beaten track, if its a bit of old culture you're after Coimbra is stunning, the oxford of wales, if you like stunning drives drive down the douro valley which is amazing.

me and my boyfriend went to the algarve last year for my 21st, we stayed in montechorro right on the top of the strip and we stayed in clube 99 apts.. we loved it as the apartments were seperate to the hotel so it was quiet in the mornings and evenings which we liked..the apartments had its own pool in the centre of the villas just at the corner it was never full so we really enjoyed ourselves..the strip was alive at night and a taxi to the beautiful old town was 5euro(great for shopping) it might not be everyones cup of tea but we had the best holiday ever..and it was cheap there too!
