Scheduled Recordings

Or should that be Mis-scheduled? I know this has been covered before, but when it happens to yourself it's particularly annoying. I had 'series link' set on Sky+ set to record 'Flash Forward' on RTÉ2 last Friday night. Imagine my dismay when I went to watch it tonight and discovered that the program didn't start until 20 minutes into the recording. Consequently therefor the recording stopped early. Anyone know if the broadcaster sends the start/stop record signal, or do they submit schedule info to Sky, who then send the command signals. Either way if a live broadcast runs over it's time slot shouldn't someone be responsible for updating this data.

AFAIK it is the channel that sends the schedule info and the recordings start with that...I got lucky on this one as I just happened to turn over and watch it instead of the recording, twas the footie that was on, shams v bohs or something and it overran with lots of inane talk after the final whistle.

Yep that was it alright, inane wouldn't be the word for it! I '6 times'd it' to get to get through all that. I see this weeks episode is also preceded by a live footie match, probably have set a manual start/stop time a la VCR days! I'll try adding half an hour or so and hope for the best. All this modern hardware and software and good old RTÉ bring us back to setting manual clock times.

I think it did record the vast majority. You'd only have to catch the last 10 mins on t'internet

Being a Nordie, RTÉ Player isn't an option for me (Brit IP address), so I just watched this weeks on air. Sure enough the recording started about 10 mins before the football ended, and stopped before Flash Forward ended. More footie next week again, so it's likely to be an ongoing issue. I'll be out next W/E so I'll try canceling 'series link' and set a manual start/stop time.

Same here. I changed the recording on my planner to Sunday Morning. I'd say I missed about the last 10 mins.It was the same the previous week due to the soccer
