Hey guys, during the summer we had Argentinian couchsurfers at our place, who drank yerba mate, (from home!) which was great! Since then, I've been to the Tea Garden and had it again, and it would be really great to have it at home.

You can buy the mate/calabash and bombilla from the tea garden, but at E25 its quite expensive. Checked it on ebay and ya can get it for around a tenner, but I'm just wondering if there is anywhere else around Dublin that I could get a set for relatively cheap?

This forum is cool, makes me feel like chillin' out with a good cuppa!

there is a Brazilian shop in the Moore Street Mall that sells the Brazilian version of bomba and cuia for erva mate tea which is popular in the south of Brazil.

Spanish: yerba mate, Portuguese: erva mate

    Hey Tori,

I don't really have a clue about whether you can brew it like a normal tea, I guess you can as long as you strain it really well (the yerba is really tiny). But there is something special about using the gourd and the bombilla!

Yup, I ended up getting it in the Tea Garden, was kinda expensive (25euro ish), but was better than the one in Palais du The, and much less hassle than buying from the internet. Seemed to be some cool ones on Ebay though!

Mine is very like the one in that link! Its fine, the sieve thing at the bottom bombilla works well and doesn't let any of yerba up, and the gourd is good too.

15 euro is a good price too, nice one.
