Any body have any experience or info on LPG conversions in Ireland?
I know there fairly popular in the UK but i havenet heard much about them over here.

After the conversion, is the LPG readily available or only at certain locations etc etc?

My cousin (Taxi Driver) is looking at the conversion for his 2.4 vvti Toyota Camry, currently spends 250e per week on petrol while working

Looking for any info realy, advice, recommendations on who or where to go etc

    thanks.

I'm not aware of a single filling station that offers LPG in this country. Tell your friend to move to Holland. €1.60 for petrol, €0.40 for LPG. Available at every single filling station over there :D

The lad I bought the wife's Civic IMA from used do LPG conversions in the UK, but got out of them (and into hybrids) because of reliability issues with the conversions.

Having said that my father had an LPG conversion done on his Ascona in the early 80s and aside from no poke whatsoever (he'd switch to petrol to overtake) he had no problems.

On to availability. I haven't seen LPG at a filling station in Ireland in 20 years.

Ah the old days - when you lost at least 20% power while fuel consumption increased by at least 20% :)

I presume his Ascona was the square one and not the second gen hatchback? Sound car the first generation Ascona. RWD for the win :)

These days it is more like 5-10% both ways I think.

There are a few places selling it still.
    McLoughlins in newbridge do anyway.
I think there's a list on Flogas's website of stations doing it and guide prices.

There is a station as you enter Limerick at the University (Killmurry Lodge) that sells LPG. Note that much cheaper anymore I think its nearly 110 a litre.

What you need is to switch you home heating to gas!
