Hi girlies ... I am planning on going to SATC 2 screening in Dublin on 28th May. Its is a charity event for Breast Cancer and it is advised that the guests come dressed in Pink as their favourite character.

I am useless when it comes to this kinda style so any advice on where to start looking ?

Bearing in mind it would be to suit size 16 girl , thanks in advance.

O also if u wanna look at info on this event its on this website www.mbsevents.ie - I found it through Facebook

    oooh! Excellent!

I am currently watching my box set of SATC (as I do every Sunday morning :))

Sooooo! Who is your favourite character so that we can give you specific tips?

Are you a Park Avenue Princess? A sex mad & successful PR consult? A corporate lawyer? A quirky journalist?!

Ps. I can't access your link? What was it called on facebook?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 155 ✭✭valpuk

    Apologies, its www.msbevents.ie

I would love to go like Samantha, hehehe!
I like the idea of sexy in pink , wouldnt mind going as Carrie but I am a big girl , big hips and big boobies so Sam would prob b the best option.

I have just found a picture on internet that I kinda like, find attached.

Theres a pic of Carrie in simple pink dress with belt - very nice however wonder should i make a bit more of an effort. Its my bday on 27th may and the film is on 28th so it wil b my birthday night out, 24th bday !

Yes if you can get a dress like that I think it would be perfect - would flatter your size and shape I think.

I also think it would be dressy enough for your birthday night out etc

That link says that you can dress as your favourite character OR in pink so you are not just limited to pink. :)

    ...really?

Yup. Breakfast in bed. Newspapers. And S&TC.

Not the whole box set! 2/3 episodes every week. And then restart again once I've gone through the whole box.

    Is that really sad????!!!!

I just enjoy it so much :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 155 ✭✭valpuk

I love Chorus is all I can say, you are guaranteed at least 2 episodes each night. Yea I am not sure what to wear! Think I will go for Samantha - hehe! The thoughts of being able to dress like a slapper with permission seems exciting! Any one else going to the benefit night? I was looking into staying over considering we are travelling from the sticks! (Offaly, Kilkenny n Waterford)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,765 ✭✭✭Diddler1977

I am booked for this event!

I will not be wearing pink tho

I will probably be dressed a la Carrie or Charolotte

Anyone else going? What are you wearing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,653 ✭✭✭✭amdublin

I'm going to this as well!!!!!!! Yay! Thanks for posting about it OP!

This is what I am thinking of wearing:
Did you see the trailer and Carrie is at Stanford's wedding and she is wearing a ladies Tuxedo with dickie bow?!

So that's what I am thinking of wearing! I have long blonde hair so I am thinking of crimping and curling it like Carrie and wearing my tuxedo!

    Look out for me there!

    Wow what a great outfit!

I will be wearing a prom dress (just what Carrie would wear on a date to the movies ;) )
    Look out for me!!!

A few of us are going to the one in Cineworld with:

    http://www.didgebo.com/

We're planning on dressing up aswell. I'd love to find a tutu type dress similar to the one Carrie wears in the opening credits of the show. If anyone has seen anything like please let me know

You could make yourself one from tulle?

I cannot access this link

I might try it if I get desperate lol. The link is working fine for me. Maybe try copy and pasting it into a new window?

Cool. Was able to view it now.

    Looks good.

TBH I like the way the other one is a charity fundraiser as well though.

Hey we're like Samantha going to her breast cancer fundraiser!!! I wonder will they give us "the pink ribbon cookie" in our goodie bag :) I loved that episode!

We must come back after the event and compare nights plus what we got in our goodie bags :D

I will say though 20% of the profits from the one in Cineworld is going to the Marie Keating Foundation so I'm glad to see it'll be a good night out aswell as raising money for charity :)

    Well this is good!

Come back and update us on your skirt/what your friends are wearing to it.

I'm going to this with a group of friends, and finding something to wear is torture! It's gonna be all about the shoes & bag so I think that's where I'll start.

    Anyone any tips?

Is anyone else totally over Sex and The City? I just don't want to listen to three past it slappers and their ma talking about c**k for 2 hours. The new movie looks really awful.

I just treat it all as a bit of fun and a chance to meet up with my friends to watch the movie when it comes out....

I will NEVER get over their style! :) Go Patricia!!!!!

I originally posted this thread to speak with people who had a similar interest in the new Sex & The City film.
I understand that it is not everyones piece of cake but if you have nothing of benefit to add then please do not add anything at all.
    Thank You

Anyways guys! I have the Gresham booked for the night, so looking forward to this girlie night!
I saw FAB handbags on Dunnes website for only €6.50 !!! I know they aint Chanel but if I stand far enough away from people, ye wont know any better , it only has to 'look the part'.
Is anyone dressing in Pink or as a character for the competition ?
I had a look at the distance of Savoy from Gresham hotel and its a fair old walk for fake Jimmy Choo's ... it says we are being escorted to the cinema from the hotel, anyone else against the whole walking concept when its about 15 - 20 min walk?
I am not great with the city so I could be mis-informed with the distance.
Light being shed in this direction would be appreciated ! :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,765 ✭✭✭Diddler1977

On "Off the Rails" right now - they are doing SATC style!

    LARGE STATEMENT JEWELLERY IS KEY!!!!

    Ha ha lol!

    RELAX!

The Gresham and the Savoy are soooooo near to each other.

I would estimate about a minutes walk! Could be wrong on that.

They are right next door to each other - about 1 minute walk between them!

Has anyone received tickets or correspondance about this event?
I booked earlier this weekend, and to date haven't heard a thing from the organisers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 364 ✭✭Ms Inquisitive

    Ordered online at msbevents.ie

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 155 ✭✭valpuk

:eek:Yea i booked from there too and they said it would be beginning of May also for tickets to be sent.
Thanks amdublin for clearing the distance problem up for me... thought i'd need to get a LUAS lol...
Google maps has it mapped totally wrong so, or else it doesnt realise the Savoy is also on O'Connell Street hmmmm bit strange.:confused:
I am SO excited. A few friends that didnt kno about it are raging coz its sold out. My birthday is the day before the event so this will be my birthday outing - yeah!!! :D ( any offers of birthday drinks shall be greatly received ) :D

I have booked the Gresham for the night. Got extremely good rate on it. The hotel quoted €109 for a twin room without breakfast and i found it on Roomex.com for €109 including breakfast - Way Hay !:D:D:D:D

I am thinking of wearing either a dress or maybe a tulip skirt with a simple top like a white tank top then BIG BIG BIG with the bits of jewellery and then either a nice simple handbag with the chain strap or else one the size of a haulage container oh oh oh and Gladiator Heels :D:D:D NO ONE COPY  :P

Going to have to make my hair super shiney and glam though! :)
