    Lo all,
Anyone ever hear of the "Golf Buddy Tour sat nav"? Looking into it for a mate, and also where to get it here or in the UK, as opposed to getting it from across the pond in the USA.

my dad has one, got it from mcguirks blanch, you really need to be a low handicap to get the full advantage from a device like it, i use golfshot app on the iphone, or your other option is a handheld bushnell range finder

i have the golf buddy pro and would definately reccommend it to any mid to low handicap player. no subscriptions and it comes with all courses preloaded got mine in galway. def a help at courses you have not played before and is pretty accurate and def helps from off the fairway away from markers etc, i play off 14 and found it a definate help and a mate who plays off 3 swears by it, def a great help and a great "gadget" to have and more and more courses seem to be allowing them in open singles etc.

I see McGuirks have it for €350, but wondering if anyone got it cheaper? Saw Amazon.com has it for $288, but don't want to get hit by customs.

Just to let you all know that any GPS app for the iphone is illegal for use in competition. Even where Distance measuring devices are allowed.

Does the same go for the Gold Buddy Tour?

Lads, would the use of the gamebook app for score sharing be illegal?

Because the iPhone is capable of measuring more that just distance. eg It can measure gradiant. If you use your iphone as a DMD It cannot be capable of measuring slope or wind regardless of whether such features are used.

I don't see why not as long as the phone is not used as a DMD

Does that not depend on the software you have installed - if capable software not installed then iPhone not capable of measuring slope or wind ?

I think it may be that it's on a phone that is part of the problem?
