Im hoping you can help me.

I was out with a mate looking at a civic type r today and the guy in the garage said its normal for the rpm to sit between 750 and 950 rpm when its idle.

Is this right? He is going to get a mechanic to look it over but its more so I know the answer.

When he first starting driving it would sit at around 950 when stopped then a few mins later stopped again it went down to 700-750.

He asked me about it but I havent got a clue about cars.

when you initially start the car most will idle high for a while until they get into a closed loop(or is it open loop?) system..

mine idles around 1150-1200 until it's warmed up properly.

I'd say it's grand, sure get the mechanic to have a good look at it anyway and get his verdict.

Hope he has luck with it anyway!
