I recently got sky HD installed. When I playback recordings I'm finding they keep freezing. I have to keep returning to the main menu and select the recording again. Then a few minutes later it will freeze again. Has anyone else had this problem? Before i got the HD i had skyplus and never had any trouble. It happens all the time. No matter what I'm recording.

Is it an Amstrad manufactured box you have by any chance? I'm having the same problem with my recently installed HD box. Watching HD channels live seems fine and recording and playing back non-HD stuff is fine. But I can't record and replay a HD movie without it freezing on at least three occasions, and if I set two HD programmes to record at the same time, ha, forget it. Reading up a lot of reports on the net suggest the Amstrad is a heap of dirt, built to a tight budget.

Your best bet is to ring sky up and complain, maybe see can you get another make of box. If they won't give me another one, they can come and take the entire thing out...

It might be worth doing a planner rebuild. Go into the TV Guide and make sure you are in the top menu (TV Guide, Planner, Anytime, etc). Then press 0, 0, 1, select, 7. Press select again when prompted. The rebuild will start and the HD box will reboot. It'll take about 3 minutes and won't delete anything you have previously recorded. Don't do this while a recording is in progress or it will stop the recording.

If the problem persists then you'll probably need to call Sky.
