fill out a TR1 form and send it in, that'll get the ball rolling

also depending on the business you may have to fill out a TC1 tax clearance form.

I sent in a TR1 at the end of last month, and this week I got a one page letter saying Dear Sir, I confirm registration for the following.... Income Tax.... Yours Sincerely [illegeible signature] J Smith]

    and that is it!

Where is my info on PRSI Class S?! or a guideline as to what happens next, or how much of my income I should be setting aside to pay tax

    Hi

You need to complete a set of account for the business at the end of each 12 month period and work out from them how much tax and PRSI you need to pay.

There are also some commencement rules regarding the calculation of the profits that are chargable to tax in the first few years of business.

You will need to speak to an accountant regarding all the above to get further advice.

    Kind Regards

    NO NO NO!!!!!!

Do not fill in a TR1 from if you are hoping to go on the BTW scheme. You have to be unemployed to go on the scheme. If you register for taxes you are now self employed and thus inelligable.

Go to your local employment partnership and let them guide you through the process. It is free and you will get further good advise from them at the same time. They will register you and set you up for business properly and ensure you get on the scheme without any problems.

    Kind Regards
