    Here's the Weigh ins

Pretty Interesting after Paul Kelly's weigh in, i noticed that he'd put a big cross (marker pen) through his back tattoo of the Wolfslair, i guess that split wasn't as amicable as we're led to believe!

    UFC_112_Poster.jpg

UFC Middleweight Championship: Anderson Silva vs. Demian Maia
UFC Lightweight Championship: B.J. Penn vs. Frankie Edgar
Terry Etim vs. Rafael dos Anjos
    Matt Hughes vs. Renzo Gracie
    Kendall Grove vs. Mark Muñoz
    Phil Davis vs. Alexander Gustafsson
    Paul Taylor vs. John Gunderson
    Rick Story vs. Nick Osipczak
    Brad Blackburn vs. DaMarques Johnson
    Paul Kelly vs. Matt Veach
    Jon Madsen vs. Mostapha Al-Turk

Im more interested in the set up of the show then the fights, so many one sided match ups on this show.

I've said many times that it was a ridiculous tattoo and he'd regret it! It's like getting your GF's name tattooed on you, probably seems like a good idea at the time but.............

Had to laugh at Renzo wearing the Man City shirt and patting the crest like he's a Blue Manc.

I know he's Brazilian so is more than likely a football fan, but a guy from Brazil, in Abu Dhabi, playing to the crowd by wearing the shirt of a tream from England....

Are Manchester City not owned by some crowd from Abu Dhabi?

Yeah they are, but they're still a team based in Manchester.

It would be like a fighter wearing a Manchester United or an Aston Villa jersey in the US to curry favour.

Or a Sunderland jersey in Ireland! LOL why did he have to go wearing that, now a part of me wants Hughes to win and I feel dirty!

ah but they probably have been marketed up to the rafters over there since the takeover and id say they are a huge brand over there at this stage and instantly recognizable.

Lets keep the non lighthearted soccer team jibes out of the forum shall we? We don't need a soccer forum mark 2.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,089 ✭✭✭✭rovert

Renzo is close friends with Zayed Al Nahyan who owns part of Man City and UFC that is the connect and why in part hes with UFC and fighting on the card. That and he hit it off with Dana really well last year apparently.

    starts at 6pm on ESPN

This is a really good card and in Abu Dhabi there should be a crowd who appreciates the ground game.

Plus it's on at an awesome time.

BJ is a lock and as much as I like Maia, he'll be forced to stay standing and Anderson will destroy him.

I think Hughes will take Gracie and then retire.

Paul Taylor pulled out of his fight hours before it started, supposedely he had to cut 20lbs of weight to make 155 on the day before the weigh ins. Not feeling very well so pulled out.

Should be a good card, wish I had some bets on now.

Fans there still seem to be giving it a bit of stick too. Joe would usually call em out on it though, guess their wallets are too big.

Thats exactly what Hughes is preventing, boring but a good strategy. I can see hughes winning tbh.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,089 ✭✭✭✭rovert

    Renzo is gassing fierce

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,818 ✭✭✭Minstrel27

    Pure domination by Hughes.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 810 ✭✭✭Fear Uladh

****ing fair play to Matt hughes, switching to standard orth taking Gracie out of his game, good win.

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 23,089 ✭✭✭✭rovert

Hughes knew better than the crowd and the Sherdog forum :)

BJ has broken away from his training from the last two fights by staying in Hawaii....trouble?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 810 ✭✭✭Fear Uladh

Could be intriguing can Edgar and indeed Penn keep up that pace for 5 rounds?
