Does anyone know anything about reprecussions or implications for journalists who use hidden cameras to uncover stories which would otherwise be hard to prove or bring to people's attention?

Leas Cross is one of the obvious examples and from what I know there were no reprecussions for those involved in filming what was going on there.

Say for example you release the data anonymously to yourself/ a newspaper can the newspaper run with the evidence?

I think you'd have a fairly good public interest argument for anything you uncovered that way. You might f*ck up any chance of a prosecution though as it's essentially entrapment.
