I've got the PERFECT setting. The Ballymun area. I'm thinking of making it ubar cheap like the Blair Witch Project or Paranormal Activity. I'm just thinking of running around Ballymun, mainly the flats, with my camera and after two hours I should have enough footage to make a scary horrific movie.
    What you guys think?

    I don't happyslap.
I was thinking it would be like Rec in the flats, only scum bags trying to steal camera instead of zombies. Junkies puking vomit instead of zombies barfing Blood.

you do realise most of the flats are gone? Apparently the IFI and roddy doyle are trying to have one block preserved so they can still have a handy urban deprivation set for their fillums

The amount of money this thing would rake in worldwide would get Ireland out of this damn recession.

Or, for your straight to bargain-box dvd, you could make faces, or wear masks and stare down the lens for 83 minutes, which will probably be enough to put the sh1ts up most people.:pac:

    Ballymun is nothing.

Go into Teresa's Gardens in the Liberties after dark with your camera.

Post back and tell us what happens.

Run into the Dail canteen around lunchtime and film Mary Hearney. That'd be enough to scare people to death.

You could get a massive government grant for this if you convince them it shows the plight of the downtrodden. And if you cast Colm Meaney.

By plight of the downtrodden you mean those who accidently venture into Ballymun?

What's the fascination with Ballymun anyway?

Sure you could stabbed/ buy drugs as easily in a sleepy country village.

The day & age of 'good' areas & 'bad' areas are long gone...the local council buying up houses for skangers has made sure they are integrated into society instead of being segregated in a large housing estate beside an industrial estate.

Wasn't there a big Riot in The Mun last weekend? Something about The Mun just speaks to me and it's like terror is on my lips.

I have my own idea for an Irish Zombie movie. It's set in Dublin and concerns a band of outsiders who find themselves caught between two seperate groups of zombies who have swarmed on the capital from opposite ends of the country.

Typical zombie style. Deep down the creatures don't really know why they are there but are compelled by some subconcious motivation. Most are horrific looking (sunken eyes, missing teeth, discheveled looking etc) and stumble along the streets by daylight screaming and wailing.

Principle photography will take place on 5th Sept 2010 and 19th Sept 2010 in and around the Drumcondra area.
