80cm Sky dish? 2 60cm Sky dishes into 1

    Hi there,

Basically I have one 60cm Sky dish with a sky quad pointed at Astra 2 28e.
I recently picked up another one and have it pointed at Astra 1 and both are routed through a diseqc to my humax which I use seamlessly in non freesat mode for both sats.
Is there anyway that I can have one dish for both which will allow me to re-use my sky lnb’s?
I know if I had universal type lnb’s then I could use them on an 80cm non sky dish with an offset lnb adapter but my problem is that I would like to where possible re-use as much of what I already have as I would need to find a home for two dishes if not.
I am in Kerry if anyone could recommend an installer that might entertain a swap of my dishes for a larger multi lnb setup.

    Thanks in advance

I don't think that the Sky dish would be suitable for use as a multi LNB setup, due to it's small size and shape, and the 9 degrees of seperation between the two LNB's.

I have used sky lnb's on a 88cm Triax dish and they work fine for strong sats, you do loose a bit with them but with them only being ~5 degrees off each they'll still work fine.

But, from what I make of it, he's intending to use the Sky dish.

I know in the title he mention's a Sky 80cm dish but the question above poses the point can he re-use the Sky lnb's on a dish, not particularly a Sky dish.

I think (like a lot of us) he wants to re-use as much of his existing set-up as possible and I was just stating that even though Sky lnb's are only designed for Sky dishes that he could use them satisfactorily on a Triax 88cm dish (as I have in the past).

    @downwiththatsor
    Is this what you meant?

Yeah, apologies, I meant to put a question mark at the end of my comment, as I wasn't sure, and hoped OP would clarify.

Didn't mean it to sound like you were wrong.

Doubt you'll find anyone to do that,.

    Hi all,
Thanks for the replies and apologies for not getting back sooner. I can confirm that i intend using a non sky dish 80cm minimum. Having been up the ladder i can happily report that my quad on the sky dish is in fact a universal in an adapter so that makes things easier. Spoke to a satellite installer that has a 90cm dish, he is not sure of the make and is to get back to me tomorrow.
Any issue with a 90cm dish as opposed to an 80cm with a multi lnb setup?
Have siblings with rusty dishes anyway so if worst comes to the worst i will bide my time and stockpile my pristine dishes::)
    Regards

Cheers for that Pelisor, some nice setups there, need to see my new 90cm dish arm before i get a compatible multi lnb adapter.

Almost there now, triax multi lnb holder and single lnb's purchased.
Just wondering what lnb separation distances on a triax multi lnb bracket on a Triax 88cm dish aligned centrally at 19e with a single titanium lnb with another single titanium offset on 13e and a quad winstron lnb on 28e?
Will be on the ladder any day now and would like to have it set up as close as possible on the ground.
    Regards

You should have gotten an instruction leaflet with the Triax multi LNB holder, it gives the distances apart for different sats at different locations, I found it to be pretty accurate and a great place to start.
