Problem With Boiler

    Hi all,

Tried to turn on my boiler about an hour ago for hot water, went back a half hour later and no hot water. Its a Sirrus Radiant boiler. Tried the boiler and the light was on but no flame. Tried turning on the Hot water again and heating but nothing. All I get when I turn either on is a clicking noise for a few secs and thats all! Turned off the boiler at the mains and when I turned it back on it was the same.

Anyone know whats wrong or had a similar problem before?

    Thanks.

I have one of those, jesus it's not half crude:(

What you describe is probably a low water pressure problem.

If you can top up the heating system from the filling point it might do

somr thing. Alternativly, what happened to mine was the prssure sensor

plug inside was simply loose! That was an easy fix though.

It involves taking off the front white panel which wraps around the left

of the unit, then dropping forward the control panel.

onthe right hand side down low in the recess is a round top black plug

with a lead coming off the left hand side and pointing up a bit.

Take that off, breathe on it "wierd i know but the moisture conducts

electricity better!" The wiggle it back on.

Test that it works, before putting the casing back on.

PS turn off the power first:):):)

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks Wing.

Fixed it there. The dial under the boiler was below 1 which meant there was low water pressure.

I searched around the net and got this tip "Normally, you will find a little tap valve under the boiler, this comes from the mains cold water. There may be some kind of braided flexi hose attached to this, for filling the heating system. Turn this tap valve gently till the pressure rises back to 1 1/2 bar."

I tried this and then turned the heating and hot water on and it worked away!! :D
