Protein Shakes for girls?!

    Hey all,

    I've always been into fitness, go to the gym regularly, do yoga/pilates and bellydancing but have been training the last few months for my first marathon (eek!) I've dropped 2 sizes since I started but not much weight... which Im guessing means I've gained muscle??

    Anyway my dilemma is i'm the only girl in the group of us that are doing the marathon, and the lads all think I should be taking protein supplements (shakes etc) after training, since apparently I don't eat enough protein to promote muscle healing (???)... are they right?? Or is it weird!? Sorry if it's a stupid question! I'm new to this!!
