    Hi,
I am looking to buy a new laptop, netbook sizeish, i dunno do netbooks come with dvd drive ever though?

It must have a hdmi out and a massive battery life. these are my only 2 major stipulations.

Am willing to spend in and around 5/600.

should i rule out buying from actual shop, will internet purchase always be quicker?

Some laptops come with BluRay players, with built in DVD RW...

How long is a piece off string? By this, I mean what will you be using it for? Gaming, watching DVD's, browsing the internet?

I plan on cycling around France over the summer and will be using it for browsing then. Apart from that i will be running poker clients which don't take up much memory afaik. Watching dvds(why hdmi port is important), running itunes, will probably do quite a bit of downloading too, I don't know if that matters

I would suggest you to purchase Toshiba Laptops. I have come across many models of Toshiba and they all seem to be very good when compared to the others. Verify the price and model according to your requirement.

    ♥ Cheers ♥

Good advice on Toshibas ... I have had 2.

You are out of netbook money so get a nice new laptop ... you get a decent screen, real keyboard, DVD drive anhd nice graphics.

Have a look on the internet before you buy as a lot of the stuff on sale in Curry's and PC-World here is 2 year old stock that they counldn't sell in their own country.

No shop would be selling machines that are 2 years old. Maybe the odd one or two refurbished machine every now and then but that's it.
