Buying a house

    Hi,

I'm buying a house in Dublin, the whole process has so far taken over 3 months. There have been various "reasons" for the delays. The latest one is that the vendor's solicitors are waiting for "updated maps from land registry".

Is that a valid reason? Can the sale not be closed and updated maps filed later? The house is already there, and all checks on planning permissions, land ownership and so on, have supposedly been completed so I don't see a reason not to close.

    Cheers

Why don't you pull out. Serve a 28 day notice on the other side and if they don't complete, look for your money back together with costs and damages.
