Runner Recommendation - Someone has to know?

Can anyone recommend a low cut heel-tab runner for a normal pronator?

Reason for the question is that high or particularly hard heel tabs aggravate my Achilles & I’d rather not have to cut up a new pair of runners to suit! But in saying that might be the only option!

    Cheers!

Get heel lifts in any chemist. Suprisingly effective, don't disrupt running too much.

    Cheers for the reply!

But are heel lifts not just a short term solution?

Are heel-lifts not the opposite to what you asked for in the original post? Please clarify.

For low profile shoes, I would recommend Nike Skylon 2. I wouldn't wear them for all my runs though - I'd prefer something sturdier for a few days of the week.

I had a similar issue caused by heel strike, I was recommended Asics Gel DS VII by Dowlings in terenure. Been running in them for 3 months now and they're great, solved an impact issue in my lower back too. Decent price too :D

Cfitz – what I’m looking for is a runner that has a low cut heel-tab! I have attached a photo of my current runners to demonstrate what I had to do to them to get back running again! The heel-tab on the Newtons is too high & aggravates my Achilles!

Hick – as you probably already have been told, heel striking is not a friend for distance runners! You would have probably found that your original runners would have been fine once you sorted your biomechanics some what!
