Ok, to elaborate there are no grants or scholarships available certainly not in the form you are asking about. At one time there airlines used to sponsor cadets. But that's gone now as well except for one or two modest exceptions. The most you'll get is a mentored course where the airline will shortlist you for interview and may even help get you the loan you need. But you still pay for the training yourself.

In fact even when you finish the basic training some airlines, notably Ryanair and Aer Arann, assuming they want to hire you, will expect you to pay for the training you receive from them with no guarantee of a job.

There is no shortage of prospective pilots with the money to pay for their own training and there is no shortage of pilots straight out of flight school looking for work. So I'm afraid you will probably have to find the money yourself: Between €60k and €100k.

Also there are few jobs available now except of course Ryanair which you have to pay to get anyway.

You could get an Australian CPL fairly quickly over there, about 18 weeks full on. I got a PPL there in 2 months when I went travelling around there. Jobs however are hard to come by over there though.
Stick "pilot training sydney" into google and you'll get a huge list there. You could email them but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'm afraid you'll have to pay up like the rest of us did! And then pray you can get a job! Give me a shout if you want any advice though.

Think GAPAN still offer scholarships but you need to be the best, brightest, and luckiest to get it.

Alternatively try to marry a middle eastern person. Get citizenship and befriend someone high up in the airline. The likes of Ethiad, Emirates, Royal Jordanian, Quatar, MEA etc. are willing to sponsor their own if you fit their profile.

Ek do sponsor pilots. It is a tad competitive though. Getting applications from all over the world.

As for the US. They never sponsor pilots ever. They have plenty of applicants for all their jobs. So many that pilots in commuter and regional airlines are paid less than workers in fast food joints.

Also for those advocating Australia or America. Remember you need a work permit to seek employment and you won't get a visa on the basis of being a pilot. No shortage of pilots in either of those countries.

No, you have to pay for it. No easy answers, I'm afraid.

i heard a regional pilot flying the likes of a dash 8 in the US was on about 16k per annum its shocking, also my old company requires a person to have about 3000hrs(jet time) be able to clear an FBI back ground check etc and be an american citizen it's not easy.
