Small Claims Query?

    Hi,

I bought a media player about 10-11 months ago off small company in the UK. They had great customer service at the start as they replaced a faulty one straight away. That has since been broken for the last 2 months and they will not respond to my emails or phone calls anymore.

The player cost about £300, they have no address on their website but I have this and a name from returning the faulty item. The only thing I can think of is to put in a small claim to try get money back but is it possible to do this for a company based in the UK?

I need to get moving as the start of may will be a year and out of warranty,

Any information on what I can do would be great,

    Thanks

    they don't answer their phones?
    Are they still in business?

    1. Write a letter of Formal Complaint [mention this phrase in your opening paragraph] detailing what is wrong, how you have tried to contact them and saying that you will be taking it to the European Small Claims Court unless remedied.
    2. Send this letter by Registered Post. This makes sure that a signature is obtained when the letter is delivered. If not delivered, I'm pretty sure it comes back to you.
    3. Give them 10 business days [2 weeks to you and me] to respond. I'd actually increase this to 15 days [3 weeks] seeing as you are sending to UK and waiting for reply back to Ireland.
    4. European Small Claims Procedure
