hi to get a pps number if your from uk i understand you have to know your uk NI number??
    why is this needed?

does this mean if some one later returns to uk they have to get a new ni number or will they keep the old to use?
and would the same be true for the pps number... for eg someone working a few months in ire then uk then ire again?

    To stop identity fraud, etc.

You'll just use the NI number in the UK and the PS number here.
