Pianos on campus

Just wondering if anybody knows of any pianos on campus which are available for anyone to play?

I know there are some in the Geography building but they're not available in the evenings, or so it seems because I just went in there and the lecture hall was locked.

    Thanks! :)

The Music Department has a number of them in their practice rooms in Sunday's Well, but you have to be a Music Student to use them. If you were very nice to them and begged a little they might let you use them in off peak practice hours, worth a shot anyway. My advice, from experience, is not to try play the one in the Aula Maxima, security will not approve!

Haha thanks I'll keep that in mind :p
I guess the one in the SU is off limits too... it's so tempting but oh well. I might try the music school, I kind of just wanted somewhere closer. Though it gives me an excuse to go for a walk and find out where it is!

The music dept is closed until the 12th though so no access to the practice rooms. :(
There are often available rooms in the evenings but you need a student card to access the building.

I've always felt there should be a handful of unfurnished music/acting rooms on campus, where people can practice. A single lightbulb and a chair type of a deal. Would have been handy many times.

Same here. I'm not doing music or anything like that, but I play the piano and I've gotten really out of the habit of playing it since coming to college. When I was at home last week and was at it the whole time and I realised how much I missed it! I wonder if there's any way we could ask for them..

If they gave us the room they'd only charge us €65 to leave it.

So can you just walk into the Geography room and play away?

Could be good for "de-stressing" during study.

I am pretty sure there is one beside the entrance into the new bar, but I'd say its only there for show, worth a try though!! :pac:

    Yep, apparently so!

and yeah, I think the one beside the new bar is off-limits :P I've been tempted, but it's pushed back against the wall anyway!
