So I'm planning to run my first half marathon in early May - depending how that goes I might (just might...) think about the DCM in October. By my reckoning I'll have about 6 weeks between finishing the half before I start training for the full - so what's the best way to approach that time? I was thinking 1 or 2 weeks total rest then 10 or so miles a week just to keep ticking over until I get back into it fully.... what do people think?

You may not need all of two weeks recovery. Start back slowly and see how you feel.

Take another look at your chosen marathon programme. Extrapolate backwards from Week 1 of that so that you're starting it on a roll.

But first things first and good luck with your Half!
