So, not a single member of boards has ever been to serbia. I am shocked. maybe I should go and give a detailed account of my trip

If you do write a review post it here
    Travel Reports & Reviews.

If you go here and look for the "Search this Forum" option to the right on the page. Enter Serbia. There a few results.

I have been to Serbia a few times. At this moment in Belgrade there is a beer festival on. It is a very nice country and also cheap at the moment. Most serbs do not go out till 10 and food and drink is cheap 5e for a steak dinner, 3.65 for a large big mac meal. It can get very warm there at the moment and was in the high thirties low forties last week. A taxi from the airport to the city should cost no more thn 15e. the euro is about 103 dinars. All the pubs/hotels have setting outside with tvs and most people spend their time there. The police take no messing, the women are beautiful. Most the programs are in english with serbian subtitles. Also dont talk about the war or if you think America is great. Also ther is no direct flights from Ireland at the moment.

Hey, so did you go to Serbia after? I'm thinking of going there in the next few weeks? Belgrade? What's it like for a solo traveller?

I was there a few years ago. If theres any specific information you need feel free to ask. I took the train from Hungary. The Hotels arent up to much, but their food is delicious.

I live in Kosovo. Although not a part of Serbia anymore, it's still easily accessible and an interesting place to visit. I'll hopefully be visiting Serbia soon, so any tips on where to go would be great!

I've been to Serbia a few times, and my favourite has to be the beach on the island in the Danube in Belgrade. It's a nice city to wander around, and there is a bus tour of Belgrade that's pretty good. Once you go outside the main cities, the country seems to be a lot poorer, but again, it's quite pretty.

I was in Belgrade for 1 night in July. I was just passing through but from what i saw its a beauitful city. A walk up to the park/castle at sunset is a must. fantastic views of the sun setting over the city. However i got savaged by mosquitos after dark

I was also in Novi Sad, about an hour north of Belgrade. Was there for Exit festival but its also a nice little city.

Fantastic weather during the summer and cheap as chips!!!

Im considering going back next year...
